Circle BMW Lends Hand to Local Grassroots AgencySometimes all someone needs is a helping hand. That’s why Circle BMW is sponsoring A Taste of Spring cocktail reception fundraiser to benefit Long Branch Concordance at Cask 591, Long Branch, on April 12, 2007.“Dennis Tafuri, owner of Cask 591, introduced me to LBC’s mission. It’s a relatively young agency doing some great work in Long Branch. It’s a worthy mission in need of some strong support,” said Tom DeFelice, president of Circle BMW. The Long Branch Concordance (LBC) is a grassroots collaborative that helps address the needs of Coastal Monmouth residents of all ages and cultures. The group was formed in 2004 after a series of events occurred including the relocation of the local welfare office 15 years ago. LBC helps to bridge the gap between those who need services and those providing services including state, county, local and religious entities. LBC helps people to help themselves by providing information, referrals and resources for services and support with issues such as health care, housing needs, substance abuse, rent & utilities, job development, child care, financial guidance and language skills. “LBC is a local collaborative bridge that brings everybody together,” said Debi Heptig, executive director for LBC. “We are working to strengthen families by providing basic needs and that helps to build stronger communities. Circle BMW has a great reputation as a leader in the community. Their sponsorship will motivate others to get involved.” The evening will offer guests hors d’oeuvre and wine, live music and an auction and raffle that will help raise funds for LBC programs and services.
