Two Local Events Garner Support from Circle BMW

Fall at the Jersey Shore ushers in a variety of seasonal events, many that have become highly anticipated and ingrained in the community calendar.  Two such events are the Little Silver 5K and the Spring Lake Kitchen Tour.  Both of these popular events are fundraisers for their respective school districts. Money raised benefits students, teachers and administrators through enhanced programs, grants, facility upgrades and activities.

Since 1993, the Little Silver Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) has hosted a 5K competitive race that attracts committed and casual runners alike. Gaining in popularity each year, the race has been designated a USATF-NJ Women’s Masters 5K Championship Race, is a USATF Certified Course and a USATF Grand Prix Event. In 2018, the race drew more than 1,200 racers. This year’s race will take place on Sunday, October 6, 2019 and upwards of 1,500 racers are expected to participate.

The Little Silver PTO contributes $20,000 annually to the cultural arts and S.T.E.A.M. programs at Point Road Elementary and Markham Place Middle School. Additionally, the PTO funds over $20,000 in teacher grants, curriculum enhancement and social activities. To participate in the Little Silver 5K, visit

The quaint, seaside community of Spring Lake is the backdrop for the annual, “A Taste of Spring Lake Kitchen Tour.” This wildly popular tour features an array of lovely homes and almost always sells-out, attracting more than 900 guests. Tour-goers are treated to tasteful bites from local chefs and restaurants at each home.  The 2019 Kitchen Tour will take place on Saturday, October 19th from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Hosted by the H.W. Mountz School Parent Teacher Association (PTA), proceeds from the tour benefit building renovations, the drama program, scholarships, minigrants, graduation and field day. To purchase tickets, visit
